I use voice commands extensively with my Note 3, and voice-to-text responding to texts, and writing .doc files. They are tired of making $10 per PC sold and want to make $110 per tablet sold. If you're a mobile user who needs easy access to the complete Microsoft ecosystem, including SkyDrive, Windows 8 is definitely a good fit. I have Windows 8 setup as I had Windows 7 Pro and everything seems to behave properly as long as Windows 8 understands the devices. AARP offere FREE classes for W8 as wll as any other computer and technology stuff(sending photos on smartphones?)-- for memebers (maybe for nonmembers too) all over the country. That would surely muddy the waters even further and suggest Microsoft really doesn't have a cohesive strategy. BTW, when we went to 7 our Epson scanner would no longer work because there were no drivers. There is no easy way to turn Windows 10 into Windows 8, or Windows 8 into Windows 7, especially if you've been using the newer OS for any length of time. I don't want a touch screen because it is not a comfortable or accurate method of control compared to a mouse. And I haven't even mentioned yet, the uber-annoying "charms" bar that triggers needlessly & endlessly repeatedly depending on the PC you're using (a problem on most systems where the track-pad doesn't navigate here I love my older printer and scanner and don't want to replace them until they die.
