I have tried to find other events in the Event Log that may explain these freezes but nothing correlates with my existing data. I had weird USB disconnects on both my i7 920 system and my 2500k that were both due to a cpu overclock! As we speak I'm testing a different copy of the install disk, so far the install is much much quicker than previous times.
