I think Microsoft means well but it's easily corruptible. After losing years of stuff (none of which was really that important, I guess), I started backing up regularly. After many months of searching, there was no fix but I did find a workaround.I connected my external drive to my PC via a USB 3.0 hub. Using the site is easy and fun.
