Second HD Not Seen Until After UEFI Boot
I have tried all the usual stuff, the hardrive is lettered and partitioned, I'm thing maybe it is to do with Master and Slave settings but as they are SATA how I had to configure it in the non-Intel ports, I had to tinker with the settings to get it done. My System Specs Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom OS 7 Pro x64, 10 Pro x64 CPU Intel i7 4790K Motherboard ASUS Maximus VI Extreme Memory 32GB(4x8GB) DDR3 Team Xtreem I unplugged the power cord, removed the battery and tried to turn on the computer few times, to be sure that all remaining energy in the capacitors got discharged. http://genepsd.com/hard-drive/computer-won-t-boot-with-3rd-hdd-installed.html
Click Apply. Took a while to figure it out. When I tried to print a document from my laptop to the attached printer it gave me an error message saying there was print spooling problem. Good idea, TVeblen. If it does start happening with linux too that could indicate a hardware problem. What is the difference? Is the SSD listed there?

I double checked the boot order and it was still showing the SSD as having priority. I hit option 1 to access the dropdown menu, and my SSD showed up! It simply blinks back to the original menu and says my drive is STILL "unconfigured". Have you tried adding it as a master on the secondary controller? For example, most IDE controllers are designed to specifically enumerate the Master channel, wait two seconds, and then enumerate the Slave channel. Not sure who your manufacturer is but you might want to check with them before buying a drive to see if the recovery media will work. I plug the new hdd to powersorce and sata socket and when i turn on the pc i can feel it runing, but when i enter in device manager i see Change Uefi To Sata
I have see some drive show up when used in an external enclosure when not showing up when connected with an IDE cable. Was it working prior and quit or has it always been this way? If you get "command not found", you need to use grub-mkconfig directly. That, OR, the way I installed the BIOS was a little wonky (it was my first time), and during the installation of me tinkering with things might have screwed something up If you once got a option to choose between the two when booting up and now it only boots directly into one, then an entry must have been removed that tells I have kept this hard drive as slave in another pc and its also not showing.
